News: May 1512

Vendan Motorcycles is sponsoring a border-to-border ride in Hŕromszék to benefit reconstruction efforts in the former Central Republic of Venda.   Participants are not limited to riders of Vendan cycles, although a majority of registrants to date are.   Split into four or five groups to spread out their impact on traffic and lodging, the riders will group into rolling waves of thunder - fifteen thousand or more in each group.   Most will start at or near the Hz coast - Körötorsk is the official start point, but things are pretty informal.   From there, riders take an easterly route, through Sajoszentpéter, Torbel, Kloptosc, Ysekvadkert, Charlesgros, Csorkó, Louisterre, and eventually wind up at the Reichstadt border past Tisujszáburgh.

1512 Vendan benefit ride route

City councils of a number of the places on the route have scheduled Native Vendan festivals, benefit concerts, and fairs to coincide with the riders' passing.   A nominal fee of sk20 is charged to be an official part of the deafening parade, which is totally unenforced.   Money collected from this fee and a part of all the wayside events' profits goes to Vendan relief.   Part will go to Aztlan (food and medicines), part to Pochata (buying and shipping horses), part to Tavatia (grass seed and tree seedlings to replant burned areas).   Funds were offered to Itza, but that reclusive country hasn't responded.

This kind of benefit ride has been done in Hŕromszék before, sometimes drawing twenty thousand riders.   That many and more are expected for this Vendan ride - the first of what may become an annual event kicks off May 15.   Fifteen thousand motorcycles can take an hour and a half to pass a given point on a two-lane highway - folks come out just to watch and listen.   Vendan Motorcycles is encouraging riders of their bikes in other nations to follow suit with similar benefit rides.
