You can use either the full word or a pattern with wildcard charcters to search the words

Percentage (%) - equivalent to *
You can use the percentage as a substitute for zero or more characters. If you're looking for a word that 
starts with "pro" but if you do not remember the rest of the characters, type the following: pro%. If
you are looking for words that contain "dent" anywhere in the word, type the following: %dent%

Underscore (_) - equivalent to ?
You can use the underscore as a substitute for a single character in a word. For example, if you typed 
_en, the search engine will look for three letter words that starts with any letter but end with "en"

eg., _en may show Ken, Yen etc., as results
