well - departure minus five days. every event takes on a new significance. last thursday at the pelican, last tube journey to work, last fives (and i got beat). more powerful events like last time i'll see brothers, parents, friends. its only a year - makes you realise that only 100 years ago people made similar decisions to head off to the new world knowing that they'd never return - one reading project i've got for the next year will definately include biographies of these pioneer/explorer/emigrant people who said goodbye to it all. thats something i couldn't do.

well this is the first entry of what will hopefully become a log or journal of a year into uncharted territory. i'm going to be outwarboundinggently.
