Currently our Dojo has levels of Kyu from White belt to Blue belt (2nd Kyu) and other 1st and 2nd Dan grades.
We have a regular following each evening and would always welcome more.
Each training sessions is informal, although basic dojo etiquette is maintained
During our training we use open hand and weapon techniques. We introduce our novices to advanced techniques and weapons early to show what is attainable and show the effectiveness of Aikido.
Weapons we use include Tanto (Knife), Jo (Short Staff) and Bokken (Sword). At higher grades this includes Knife (Live Blade), Katana (Sword - Live Blade), Baseball Bat and Baton.
To begin loose fitting tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt is sufficient, however once the Aikido bug has taken a Judo Gi is required
